BUILT ON GOD'S WORD
What Is Prophetic Teaching?
Prophetic teaching is the faithful unpacking of God’s Word through the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is not driven by prediction, hype, or personal opinion, but by Scripture illuminated by the Spirit for understanding, alignment, and obedience.
Its purpose is to help believers hear God clearly, discern truth rightly, and apply biblical wisdom to real-life situations with confidence and maturity.
Marks of Genuine Prophetic Teaching
- Rooted in God's Word
- Led by the Holy Spirit
- Reveals God's Heart and Character
- Brings Clarity, Alignment, and Direction
- Leads to Obedience and Maturity
Genuine prophetic teaching is anchored in the written Word of God and illuminated by the Holy Spirit. It reveals God’s character, strengthens biblical discernment, and brings believers into greater alignment with His truth.
Its purpose is not merely to communicate spiritual insight, but to cultivate obedience, Christlike maturity, and a deeper relationship with God.
What Prophetic Teaching Is Not
- Fortune-telling or divination
- Emotional manipulation or spiritual hype
- Personal opinions dressed up as “God said”
- Teaching detached from the truth of Scripture
Prophetic teaching must remain submitted to the authority of Scripture. Any teaching that replaces biblical truth with personal speculation, manipulates people through fear, or draws attention away from Christ must be carefully examined and rejected where it contradicts God’s Word.

What Is Biblical Discernment?
“But strong meat belongs to those who are of full age… who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” — Hebrews 5:14 (NKJV)
Biblical discernment is not rooted in human opinion, emotional reaction, or personal preference. It is a spiritual capacity developed through the Word of God and sharpened by the Holy Spirit.
It is the ability to rightly distinguish between truth and error, light and darkness—between what is from God and what merely appears to be.
How Is Discernment Developed?
Discernment isn’t automatic—it is trained.
1. “Reason of use”: Experience and applying God’s Word.
2. “Exercising senses”: Spiritual maturity through obedience.
3. “Aligning with truth”: Consistent practice in God’s ways.
