โBut I have this [charge] against you, that you have left your first love [you have lost the depth of love that you first had for Me]. So remember the heights from which you have fallen, and repent [change your inner selfโyour old way of thinking, your sinful behaviorโseek Godโs will] and do the works you did at first [when you first knew Me]; otherwise, I will visit you and remove your lampstand (the church, its impact) from its placeโunless you repent.โ

About this MESSAGE
God’s call to repentance is an invitation to return to Him. In this prophetic teaching, Prophetess Sherryann Hernandez challenges believers to honestly examine their lives, recognize what has drawn them away from God’s presence, and respond with genuine repentance. It is a call to leave compromise behind, walk by the Spirit, and restore intimate fellowship with God.
KEY SCRIPTURE
โReturn, faithless Israel,โ says the Lord;
โI will not look on you in anger.
For I am gracious and merciful,โ says the Lord;
โI will not be angry forever.
Only understand fully and acknowledge your wickedness and guilt,
That you have rebelled (transgressed) against the Lord your God
And have scattered your favors among strangers under every green tree,
And you have not obeyed My voice,โ says the Lord.

Jeremiah 3:12โ13 (AMP)
WHAT YOUโLL LEARN
How to honestly examine whether your life reflects Christ.
Why genuine repentance requires more than simply feeling sorry for sin.
How walking by the Spirit produces inward transformation and godly character.
Practical ways to restore your relationship with God and return to intimate fellowship with Him.
KEY TEACHING POINTS
1
Examine Your Walk Honestly
Spiritual maturity requires honest self-examination. Scripture calls us to test whether we are truly living as committed believers. Our choices, attitudes, behavior, and character should increasingly reflect Christ as the Holy Spirit transforms us. Christianity cannot become a mask we wear around believers while remaining unchanged within.
2
True Repentance Requires Turning
Repentance is more than admitting that something is wrong. It requires a changed attitude toward God and sin: acknowledging our wrongdoing, confessing it, receiving God’s forgiveness, and turning away from what caused us to stumble. Genuine repentance redirects our hearts and attention back toward God.
3
Return Through Relationship and Surrender
Returning to God must become practical. Prayer, Scripture, separation from influences that pull us away from Him, and daily dependence upon the Holy Spirit restore spiritual alignment. We cannot transform ourselves by human effort; lasting change comes as we surrender to the Holy Spirit and cooperate with His transforming work.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
- If someone examined my choices, attitudes, relationships, and behavior, would they clearly see the transforming presence of Christ in my life?
- Have I become comfortable with anything that the Holy Spirit has repeatedly been asking me to surrender?
- What person, habit, offense, desire, environment, or compromise may be drawing my heart away from intimacy with God?
- Am I genuinely repenting and turning from sin, or have I been confessing the same things without making the changes necessary to walk differently?
A PRAYER FOR YOU
Father, search my heart and reveal anything that has taken me away from the place of intimacy and obedience You desire. Give me grace to see myself honestly and humility to respond when Your Spirit brings conviction. I repent of every compromise, offense, sinful desire, and act of disobedience that has hindered my fellowship with You. Restore within me a deep hunger for Your presence and a desire for holiness. Holy Spirit, strengthen me where I am weak, transform my character, and teach me to walk according to Your leading. I choose to return, surrender, and make You first again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
