I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
Ephesians 1:18โ19 NIV
Many believers know what Jesus accomplished for them, yet have not fully understood what His victory means for their identity and position today. In this teaching, Prophetess Sherryann Hernandez explores our union with Christ through His death, resurrection, and exaltation, revealing how His finished work has positioned believers to live from a place of victory, spiritual authority, and confidence in Him.
โAnd hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.โ
What it means to be identified and united with Christ in His redemptive work.
How Christ’s victory over sin, death, and the powers of darkness affects the believer today.
Why being raised and seated with Christ changes your understanding of spiritual authority.
How to live from your identity and position in Christ rather than from fear or defeat.
The believer’s identity cannot be separated from the finished work of Jesus. Through His substitutionary sacrifice, we are identified with Christ in His death, burial, resurrection, and exaltation. Understanding this union changes how we see ourselves because redemption is not merely something Christ accomplished for usโit establishes who we now are in Him.
Jesus conquered the powers of darkness and broke the dominion that once held humanity captive. Because believers are united with Him, His triumph fundamentally changes our spiritual position. We are no longer to approach the enemy as those seeking to obtain victory, but as those learning to stand in what Christ has already accomplished.ย ย
Scripture declares that believers have been raised and seated with Christ in heavenly places. This position calls for a transformed understanding of Christian living. Rather than magnifying the enemy or accepting spiritual defeat, believers must understand their place in Christ, hold fast to God’s Word, and walk responsibly in the authority entrusted to His Body.
Father, I pray that You would enlighten the eyes of every person receiving this teaching so they may understand who they are in Christ and what You accomplished through His finished work. Break every mindset of defeat, fear, and spiritual inferiority that has caused them to live beneath their identity in You. By Your Holy Spirit, deepen their understanding of their union with Christ and teach them to walk with wisdom, obedience, and confidence in the authority You have entrusted to them. May their lives reflect not pride in themselves, but unwavering confidence in Jesus and the victory He secured. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
